Urgent Care Centers provide quick walk-in access to medical professionals, including physicians, physician assistants or advanced practice registered nurses.

Their main function is to provide treatment for a variety of medical issues that need to be addressed promptly, but that are not serious enough to require emergency room treatment. Issues that require surgery, extended recovery times or advanced imaging services are not candidates for urgent care.
