Cardiologists
Cardiologists are physicians who are board certified in Internal Medicine and complete an additionaltraining in conditions of the heart, blood vessels and circulation.

Cardiology deals with the heart, blood vessels and the circulation of blood throughout the body. Since cardiologists are also internal medicine physicians, they may also provide general physical check-ups, and handle any conditions that fall under their specialty.

Patients suffering from chest pains or difficulty in breathing may be referred to a cardiologist, especially if there is any uncertainty with the diagnosis or there are additional circumstances that require the services of a specialist (although many patients may be treated by an internal medicine physician for some symptoms without these complications). Cardiologists are especially needed for extensive diagnosis and treatment of the heart and circulatory system.
